SONIC GENERATIONS Company: Sega Release: November 22, 2011 ESRB: E (Mild Cartoon Violence) January 3, 2012 Growing up, Mario was always my favorite. I didn't own a Sega Genesis or Master System. It was only until Sega systems became "retro" that I played Sonic for the first time. So I'm not really a Sonic fan, but I can say after defeating the first level that this is just your typical Sonic. A few 3D enhancements include playing in the background (like in Virtual Boy Wario Land), as well as new moves, like, for instance, outrunning a huge totem pole by holding Y. I actually lost a life because I didn't press Y soon enough and instead wondering why the letter Y was on the screen. Yes, it helps you! This is great! And, for you old pros, you can also turn the help off! It's win/win! Haven't really run into any 3D Sonic levels like Sonic 3D Blast for the Saturn yet, but even so, it isn't really a bad game. It isn't Mario, but it is a 2D platforming game that Sonic fans should really eat up. Rating: 7/10
