Route Changes

On September 8, 2009 all the routes were changed. The Turner Road route disappeared, and other routes got merged. Most of the routes don't go downtown any more, you'd have to get off the bus and catch a different one that actually went downtown if you wanted to go to the bus station. To advertise the new changes, Cherriots took out a half-page ad. Here it is in all its glory (click on it to make it bigger.)

Maybe the baby is crying because someone put something stupid on its head. What is that? And of course, they must make these drastic stupid changes sound good. And this must be the first print advertisement with a FAQ. "Great changes"? More like "dumb changes"! But, it's actually the voters' fault this happened. A measure to give tax money to Cherriots failed. I guess people didn't want to keep their transit the way they wanted to and wanted Cherriots to cut back their service. Selfish morons can't care about the seniors who depend on Cherriots to get around.

Here's another ad about the "wonderful" new changes (click on the image to make it bigger.) This appeared in the September 2, 2009 edition of "South Salem Today". Hey, I have an idea. Instead of spending lots of money on advertising new changes, how about not making any changes? This is confusing a lot of people because some of the routes don't even go downtown any more, so you have to get off a bus and get on another one that actually goes downtown. And who knows how many milliseconds it will take for your car will get broken into if you leave it in a park and ride all day (not to mention how HOT the steering wheel and the car itself will be if it's left there in the summer.) See the ice cream picture in the ad? Imagine you're lactose intolerant.

Aaaaand another one. This appeared the Saturday before the change took effect in the Statesman Journal, this time a full-page ad. And, I'm not the only one who thinks the new changes stink...

You know the changes are unpopular when they demand a public flogging, or even worse...
